p>The Beano's Dennis, Gnasher and Walter join Minecraft By Emily Thomas Newsbeat reporter

/p>

p>Minecraft players should be on the watch for Walter "softy" and his stinky pants.

/p>

p>You can now add Walter, Dennis, the Menace and Gnasher from The Beano to the PC version of the game.

/p>

p>Gnasher can be turned into an ointment by players and all of Dennis' pranks, such as stink bombs and catapults, are a possibility to use.

/p>

p>It's part of Beano's larger plans to expand into digital. The mod was developed as a collaboration between the cartoonist and Frima Studios, which is a Canadian multi-platform game maker.

/p>

p>Mark Cotton, who is leading the Beano's digital transformation Mark Cotton, who is leading the Beano's digital changes, explained to Newsbeat: "If you talk to any 7 to 11-year-old child, Minecraft is probably their biggest passion and love."

/p>

p>Mark states that the game is an extension of the comic and an attempt at making The Beano "a more holistic experience" for children.

/p>

p>He says that 32,000 comics are sold every Week of the Beano, which is still a healthy number.

/p>

p>It's still a lot from the two million copies sold at the height of the magazines.

/p>

p>"We are well aware that kids today are obsessed with digital," says Mark.

/p>

p>"We must create The Beano a 360-degree brand that is where Dennis and Gnasher are everywhere the children are, instead of waiting for them to visit our store.

/p>

p>"So we're currently working on a variety of initiatives in the next three to six months."

/p>

p>Among them are puzzle games, interactive comics, and an "action 3-D game for children".

/p>

p>The Beano's publisher DC Thompson has already extended the brand onto a TV show, a photo sharing app and YouTube channel.

/p>

p>Grand Theft Auto?

/p>

p>The comic has been in existence since 1938 and has many adult readers. It's possible that the Beano characters be featured in any of the adult games? Dennis the Menace in Grand Theft Auto perhaps?

/p>

p>"No. Mark says, "No.

/p>

p>"We're focused on the 7-11-year-old digital product at the moment digital for us is about really engaging with kids and understanding their passions." https://minecraft-servers.cloud/ </p>

p>In order to accomplish this, they've been consulting the group of 10 seven to 11-year-old Beano and Minecraft fans throughout the development process.

/p>

p>Minnie the Minx

/p>

p>"We basically asked children"If Beano were to appear in Minecraft, what would it look like?'

/p>

p>"This was their first step towards imagining what they wanted. Their imaginations can stretch far beyond what we are able to do at the moment.

/p>

p>"But they wanted to play pranks They wanted Walter They wanted Gnasher, they wanted to dress up as Dennis and that's what we've given them.

/p>

p>"We'll continue to talk to them. We'd like to expand our reach and build Beanotown to allow kids to be creative.

/p>

p>"Minecraft is so beloved because it gives power to kids. We cannot force kids to do something, but they'd be resistant.

/p>

p>Are there any other characters that might be allowed to see in?

/p>

p>Mark says, "We certainly want to extend it."

/p>

p>"The obvious character and the ones the kids have been asking for is Minnie the Minx so that's what we'd probably take a look at next."
