p>LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade is a top YouTube creator who specialized in Minecraft let's play videos was killed just one year after he announced an illness that was cancerous, according to a statement from his family. He was 23.

p>The video uploaded Thursday and titled "so long nerds," included a posthumous message from Technoblade's creator to his fans and was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. Technoblade's message revealed that his real name was Alex. "Thank you all for supporting my work over the years. If I had another hundred years, I think I would prefer to be Technoblade each time as those were the happiest years of my life."

p>On Technoblade's website there is a message that reads "In the memory of his father, a portion of the proceeds from all online orders will be donated to an amazing organization called curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

p>Technoblade, who's online avatar was a crown king pig currently has 10.8 million viewers on his YouTube channel. "I play video games too much. His YouTube bio states that he might not be the best but that he has hot elbows.

p>The video was released on Thursday along with the statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you know how much he cared and valued his followers. Since the beginning of Technoblade's online presence, he was always strategizing ways to delight and reward his followers. He managed to retain his charming humility despite his accomplishments and maintained an enthralling balance between his confidence level and his self-deprecating wit. We ask that you honor his wishes to keep his identity a secret and to keep him from becoming famous.

p>The statement continued, "This year has been difficult for our son , as we have fought cancer in stage four." He didn't complain and continued to use his strategic mind to overcome what he knew was almost impossible odds. My son's determination in this situation was a shining example to all of us who were privileged to walk it with him. We are thankful that you shared his journey with us while he worked hard to do the work that he loved for his beloved fans.

p>According to his father Technoblade recorded his final message to his fans 8 hours before his death. "I don't think Technoblade said everything he intended to say however I believe he got the main points," his father said.

p>Technoblade announced the diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He told reporters that he began feeling discomfort in his right arm during the previous month, initially believing it was a stress-related injury caused by gaming. After a few days after that, he noticed his shoulder swelling and thought he could have a fractured bone. When he visited the hospital and was diagnosed with cancer.
