p>VentureBeat's GamesBeat 2015 conference took place in October. It was a fantastic conference which I was privileged to attend. https://www.zotero.org/beechliver5/cv VentureBeat is regarded as one of the top blogs on the internet by The New York Times. VentureBeat is a leading source of technology innovation news, events and research. Their GamesBeat conference, now in its seventh year, concentrates on the latest developments in gaming.

p>We were thrilled when Authy was invited by GamesBeat 2015 to participate in the event. It's not often that business and pleasure can coexist so seamlessly. Authy helps online brands safeguard their data and their customers by making it easy to include two-factor authentication in their services. We also enjoy playing games and are more likely to play on a platform that has increased their security.

p>Gamers Losing Trust?

/p>

p>Thanks to the rise of virtual economies on gaming websites hackers are in high demand for game developers and gamers alike. On the black market gaming profiles are available for thousands of dollars. Cyber criminals are most interested in multi-player games and the $11billion annual revenue they generate. Multi-player games' in-game currencies like World of Warcraft Gold, can be easily stolen and exchanged or converted into real money, often in other countries, and without developers knowing. Even if a business successfully recovers stolen assets and/or is successful in bringing the culprits responsible, this kind of infraction is difficult to overcome. The player loses faith in the game. And even after releasing a more secure version or a brand new game, regaining the trust of players isn't easy.

/p>

p>But It Doesn't Have to Be That In Any...

/p>

p>As users become frustrated by endless data breaches they're demanding more responsible management from the organizations that hold their data. We all know that passwords aren't enough however we also are aware that a second authentication method can be used to verify the identity of an individual. This can protect your service and your players from data loss, fraud or malicious attacks. Two-factor authentication is a perfect fit especially in multi-user online games where players trade and accumulate value.

/p>

p>Security with Just 10 Lines of Code

/p>

p>Integrating two-factor authentication isn't difficult-well, it is if you decide to create it yourself. This is my GamesBeat 2015 presentation. Integrating Authy two factor authentication is simple, powerful, and reliable. Two-factor authentication can be used quickly in just 10 lines of code

/p>

p>Verify the registration of new players. Securely allow access during log-in Secure high-value transactions and game progressions and basically any game activity you must protect

/p>

p>Yes. Authy for Minecraft.

/p>

p>To illustrate this idea, I created two-factor authentication in Minecraft to show you how to use:

/p>

p>- SMS or text to-voice at log in with Authy OneCode One Time Passcode generation for player validation with the AuthySoftToken. Push notification with Authy One Touch allows players to swipe their smartphone screen to access in-game purchases and any other actions that require additional security.

/p>

p>Hackers are no longer just after end-user data. They're now targeting entire player communities and some are even looking to take down out entire systems. If gaming developers incorporate two-factor authentication across their platforms the individual gamers will be better protected and the developer account information will be safer and brands will create trust and loyalty in its players.

/p>

p>As developers know, integrations between apps can be a cumbersome development effort. We have worked hard to make Authy easy for developers. The Authy REST API handles the difficult details like key management and secure data structuring. It also comes with two easy end-points as well as pre-built libraries to enhance security to your login process with the language you want to use: PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, NodeJS & more.

/p>

p>If You're A Developer:
